Job Summary

The Staff CAD Engineer will be responsible for supporting circuit design EDA tools and process design kits (PDKs) for Analog, RF, Mixed-Signal, and Digital design flows using primarily Cadence tools.  As an individual contributor, you will be expected to possess the necessary programming skills and circuit design knowledge to allow you to QA, support, develop, and enhance the EDA tools and the associated PDKs used by the Design, Modeling, and Technology teams.


Roles & Responsibilities

This position has responsibility for:

  • Work with Design, Technology, and Modeling teams to define and develop PDKs
  • Develop, support, and maintain physical verification rule decks using Cadence PVS/Quantus
  • Help define and implement roadmaps for PDK feature additions to improve designer productivity
  • Provide high level technical support to the Design, Modeling, and Technology teams and drive design flow enhancements
  • Develop and maintain CAD policies and processes, and help define best practices
  • Manage the PDK release process
  • Define, evaluate and deploy new circuit design EDA tools as required to improve the design flow
  • Generate and maintain complex scripts/utilities/tools given a set of general design requirements
  • Provide written documentation and training materials regarding general and high level CAD issues
  • Work closely with the EDA software vendors to identify tools that  improve the design flow, resolve tool bugs and drive new feature additions
  • Drive and participate in cross functional team meetings
  • Work closely with Design teams to understand their needs and drive CAD updates
  • Help provide direction for the CAD team

Minimum Qualifications (Experience and Skills)

  • 8 years of relevant experience
  • U.S. person status required
  • Proficient with developing and maintaining pCells within the Cadence environment
  • Extensive experience with writing DRC/LVS rule decks
  • Experience with defining and implementing parasitic extraction methodologies
  • Excellent scripting and software development abilities (C, Perl, SKILL)
  • Fluent with Linux/UNIX operating systems
  • Familiarity with CAD system administration tasks
  • Familiarity with change and configuration management systems, issue tracking, and revision control systems

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering

Maximum Salary: $177,514.62
