General Summary

We are seeking a device engineer to join our product development team. The successful candidate will work cross functionally with RF designers, test engineers and the acoustic simulation team to develop novel RF filters for high-volume production. Staff at Resonant thrive in a fast-paced environment and innovate in a range of technical areas using fundamental physical models to create new devices and algorithms that solve high value problems for mobile devices.

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Support the filter product development teams through empirical and simulation based-guidance, model improvements, and regular team meetings.
  • Establish best practices and processes to scale learning across multiple products.
  • Contribute to measurement, simulation and design activities that enable best-in-class small and large signal acoustic filter performance.
  • Develop, use, and maintain accurate physical models for proprietary acoustic-wave Radio Frequency (RF) circuits.

Required Qualifications

  • MS or PhD in Physics or Electrical Engineering; BS in Physics or Electrical Engineering and 3+ years of relevant industry experience.
  • Ability to leverage quantitative data to synthesize actionable conclusions, and to develop and maintain accurate simulations.
  • Experience with microwave acoustics, semiconductor and/or MEMs device measurement and characterization.
  • Proficient with Matlab and/or Python, Software Version Control, MS Office.
  • Familiarity with AWR or ADS circuit design environments.
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
  • Strong written and verbal English communication.

Preferred Qualifications

  • MS or PhD with 3+ years, or BS with 6+ years of industry experience.
  • Experience with product development lifecycle and design of acoustic filters.
  • Experience with reliability testing and/or failure analysis of microstructures.
  • Experience with developing and characterizing high power density RF devices.
  • Experience with COMSOL, ANSYS, or other FEM multi-physics simulation tools.
  • Experience transitioning analysis algorithms and/or physical models to stable routines or software.
  • Background in RF/Microwave circuits; both theory and measurement.
  • Familiarity with semiconductor fabrication tools and methods.
  • Familiarity with object-oriented programming.


Travel between CA offices is required. 




Minimum Salary: $105,000

Maximum Salary: $170,000
