Resonant Inc. seeks a Staff Software Engineer to join our software team and play a critical role in the development and operation of advanced design tools for novel RF (Radio Frequency) filters. In this position, you will work within a multidisciplinary engineering organization, partnering with software engineers, electrical engineers, and physicists to deliver scalable, high-performance software solutions supporting our core technology. What To Expect (Essential Job Responsibilities)
- Support, maintain, and extend our engineering design and analysis software suite, ensuring high reliability and performance.
- Develop and support scientific simulation tools that execute large-scale, highly parallel workloads across a hybrid, multi-cloud infrastructure.
- Design and improve cloud-centric services and workflows to optimize computational efficiency and scalability.
- Work with external software development partners to provide technical guidance and ensure alignment with internal standards and objectives.
What Is Required (Qualifications)
- Master’s or PhD degree in Computer Science or Electrical and Computer Engineering or related field.
- 6+ years of experience contributing to software development teams.
- Proven ownership of multiple software components or systems across their full lifecycle.
- Expanded role in defining, planning, and executing technical goals, including serving as a functional or technical project lead.
- Demonstrated leadership in complex technical initiatives and cross-functional collaboration.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including technical documentation.
- Ability to thrive in dynamic, fast-paced environments, make high-impact decisions, and operate effectively with minimal supervision.
How To Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)
- Hands-on experience building or maintaining numerically-intensive applications for use by engineers and scientists.
- Experience with Python (preferred) or other scripting language(s)
- Strong competency in C/C++ (Windows / Linux), C# (Windows).
- Experience working acrossboth Linux and Microsoft Windows environments
- Experience with MATLAB and optimization problems desirable
- Expertise with working in Amazon Web Services (EC2, S3, EFS, EBS, …) is desirable.
- Experience with Electrical Engineering, specifically RF products and systems is highly desirable

- Domestic travel between California offices is required.

Minimum Salary: $120,000
Maximum Salary: $220,000
We consider various factors in determining actual pay including your skills, qualifications, experience and location. In addition to salary, this position is eligible for incentive awards based on individual and business performance as well as competitive benefits.
