Job Summary

The Accountant is responsible for maintaining financial reports, records, general ledgers and performing general bookkeeping in accordance with US GAAP.  In addition, the Accountant will support the financial leadership in carrying out the responsibilities of the Accounting/Finance Department.

 

Roles & Responsibilities

This position has responsibility for:

  • Fixed Assets (FA): CIP, capitalization, depreciation, FA rollforward, etc.
  • Prepaids and amortization schedules
  • Sales and Use Tax calculation, payments and quarterly filings
  • Supporting FP&A Team with FA inquires and data
  • Cash tracking, bank reconciliation and cash balance sheet reconciliation
  • Preparing forecasts and reviews for tracking and planning purposes related to cash and fixed assets
  • Preparing general ledger entries, maintaining records and files; reconciling balance sheet accounts
  • Preparing sales and use tax accrual journal entries, monthly prepayments and quarterly payments and filings
  • Assisting with the preparation of consolidated financial statements
  • Assisting with Debit Memos and intercompany transactions
  • Assisting in the preparation of the monthly Flux analysis
  • Assist with month-end close, monthly spend review and ad-hoc month-end close tasks
  • Answering accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data
  • Assisting with the annual audit and ad-hoc projects
  • Adhering to accounting controls by following policies and procedures
  • Assisting in developing and implementing new accounting policies and procedures; recommending changes

Minimum Qualifications (Experience and Skills)

  • Typically requires 2 to 4 years of relevant experience, depending on education level and experience
  • Strong attention to detail, exceptional accuracy and quality of work are expected at all times
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment with minimal supervision, and a high energy level
  • Ability to absorb training and take direction
  • Proficient Microsoft Office user
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to deal with a high volume and fast paced environment

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Oracle knowledge a plus
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment is a plus

 

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Management

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment.
