Job Title: Engineer, Failure Analysis

 

Job Duties: Work on electrical and fault isolation failure analysis on field returns, prototype builds, qualification and yield failures.  New product development on RF and mixed signal CMOS products. Perform preliminary failure analysis, including external visual examination, scanning acoustic microscopy, radiographic examination, and bench testing. Perform integrated circuit (IC) fault isolation to identify failure mechanisms. Perform electrical bench testing and interpret ATE datalogs to aid in localizing electrical failures. Develop, characterize, and optimize FA techniques and tools to advance FA capabilities and efficiency. Work with designers and engineering groups to isolate root cause of failures. Generate detailed failure analysis reports for both internal and external customers.

 

Required education: Master’s degree or equivalent in Electronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related.

 

Additional minimum requirements: academic semester-long coursework or 6 months of work experience in each of the following:

 

  1. Analog and Digital IC circuit analysis;
  2. RF and mixed-signal circuit analysis, including impedance matching and RF signal integrity;
  3. Bench testing, device characterization, and electrical fault isolation and debug;
  4. Semiconductor device analysis, material failure analysis;
  5. Analysis report generation and data interpretation.
