Job Summary

The Sr. Product Manager, Business Development will be experienced in technology, business, and marketing with the expertise to play an integral role in the execution of corporate strategy to enable the profitable growth of the Company. Reporting to the VP of Corporate Planning and Development, this role will be a key member of the business development team charged with delivering on corporate objectives through the sourcing, evaluating, and then successfully negotiating various alliances and collaborations with target incubator or start-up companies. Key functional responsibilities will include direct customer engagement through muRata channels, technology scouting, industry and emerging market and company analysis, competitive analysis, technology planning and business development initiatives. The initial focus will be for direct support of the WiFi and associated products and markets.

 

Roles & Responsibilities

This position has responsibility for:

  • Work with engineering, manufacturing, and sales to develop new technology and product concepts and launch through OCTO
  • Ensure alignment of corporate technology development strategy and planning with Murata Manufacturing Company (MMC) business units
  • Accompany Murata to end customer meeting as requested
  • Support the internal WiFi development teams at both pSemi and Murata with market, product, and development intelligence
  • Assess and evaluate existing and emerging technologies and make recommendations for acquisition, incubation, IP licensing, or other mutually beneficial partnerships
  • Research target company technology to determine synergies, alignment, and integration with pSemi technology strategy
  • Work with OCTO, engineering, manufacturing, sales, and customers to specify technology gaps
  • Develop research proposals and create Themes for pSemi’s R&D activities
  • Analyze and propose go to market options for new technologies and markets
  • Develop technical market studies for cellular RF in 4/5G smartphones
  • Support business cases generation, MRD creation, and IP portfolio management
  • Assist in market segmentation and opportunity sizing: TAM/SAM/SOM modeling
  • Document inputs on competitive and market dynamics analysis

Minimum Qualifications (Experience and Skills)

  • 12 years RF design and product management experience with transceivers, power amplifiers, switches, LNAs, filters, antenna tuners
  • Experience in or more of the following areas in a Semiconductor company
    • Corporate Development
    • Engineering
    • Business Development
    • Product Marketing
    • Finance
    • Research and Development
  • Demonstrated project management experience setting goals, planning, and managing projects to navigate risk, budgets, cost, time, and cross functional teams
  • Must be a strategic thinker and an excellent communicator to present, assert and speak to stakeholders both internal and external at various levels
  • Experience building internal and external relationships to influence, manage conflicts, and, navigate projects to a successful conclusion.
  • Ability to diplomatically work through corporate cultures and competing motivations to create a win-win scenarios for corporate development projects that span multiple departments and organizations
  • Strong research and strategic analysis skills are essential, including financial planning and strategy
  • Experience developing budgets
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Willingness to travel ~10% of the time


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in RF semiconductor design, applications, or manufacturing
  • Ability to understand and relay technical information to customers, engineering teams, and marketing colleagues
  • Responsive, self-driven and directed, with a strong sense of ownership
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and, written communications skills to interact with customers and internal teams
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment

 

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical field
  • Master’s degree in Business Administration or Business Management – preferred
