Job Summary
The Field Applications Engineer role focuses on delivering technical expertise and strategic support throughout the customer engagement lifecycle. This includes enabling product adoption through solution design, troubleshooting RF/microwave systems, and providing guidance on best practices. The role supports both pre-sales and post-sales activities, working closely with internal teams to align customer needs with product capabilities. Responsibilities often include conducting advanced measurements, developing application notes, and contributing to product improvement initiatives. At higher levels, the role expands to include mentoring, regional strategy development, and synthesizing market insights to inform business decisions.
Roles & Responsibilities
This position has responsibility for:
- Advise on complex system-level designs and integration strategies.
- Collaborate with leadership to align technical support with business goals.
- Define regional technical strategies to support business objectives.
- Mentor and coach senior engineers on advanced technical topics.
- Represent the company at industry events and technical forums.
- Develop and implement best practices for field application processes.
- Influence product development priorities through customer insights.
- Drive initiatives to improve customer satisfaction and solution adoption.
- Lead technical engagement for strategic accounts and high-impact projects.
Minimum Qualifications (Experience and Skills)
- 12+ years of experience in an RF/microwave design environment
- Ability to define and implement regional technical strategies.
- Ability to manage high-impact projects with cross-functional teams.
- Exceptional leadership and talent development skills.
- Experience representing the company at industry events and forums.
- Expert-level problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
- Extensive experience in strategic customer engagement and solution design.
- Proven track record of influencing product roadmaps and business decisions.
- Recognized authority in RF/microwave systems and advanced applications.
- Strong business acumen and ability to align technical efforts with goals.
Education Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field; Master’s or MBA preferred.
