Job Summary

The primary responsibility of the Senior RF Lab Technician is to maintain laboratory readiness in support of all product development. The Senior RF Lab Technician is responsible for maintaining Test Engineering lab assets including automated test and handling equipment, and bench top instrumentations. This person must be able to support test system calibration and maintenance, configuring custom bench test setups requiring the ability to work from schematics, diagrams, and written and verbal instructions, and demonstrate an understanding of the data collected through proper documentation and reporting.  The assigned tasks will be diverse and will require organization and high attention to detail.

 

Roles & Responsibilities

This position has responsibility for:

  • Maintain laboratory readiness in support of all product development testing activities.
  • Manage test equipment calibration and repair services and schedules.
  • Lead in diagnosing, troubleshooting and resolving hardware and/or software failures within test and handling-system to minimize downtime.
  • Manage inventory of laboratory assets and specialized component consumables, and support requisition of laboratory supplies  
  • Support construction, assembly, and/or validation of custom test systems or fixtures, including precision PCBA rework and component level modifications to enable rapid prototyping of test fixtures.
  • Independently perform complex system‑level, PCB‑level, and component‑level root‑cause analysis and drive corrective actions in support of engineering.
  • Develop documentation, and continuously improve laboratory procedures, test workflows, troubleshooting guides, and equipment handling standards.

 

Minimum Qualifications (Experience and Skills)

  • Minimum of 8 years related experience in an RF product development or Test Engineering laboratory environment
  • Demonstrated RF test and measurement skills
  • Experience operating and troubleshooting advanced test and diagnostic equipment, including ATE systems, automated wafer probers, and final test handlers, alongside standard bench instrumentation such as oscilloscopes, vector network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, and signal generators.
  • Strong experience in multi-level diagnostics, including system-level analysis, PCB-level schematic tracing, and component-level root cause identification to resolve complex failures
  • Can independently build and service RF test fixtures and shielded setups to specification, interpret drawings and GD&T; apply calibrated torque for precision RF connectors
  • Troubleshoots and resolves complex mechanical issues; implement fixture improvements and preventive maintenance
  • Ability to train and mentor others on best practices and safety.
  • Advanced technical communication ability to author and present clear, data‑driven RF test documentation and recommendations, lead cross‑functional reviews and hand-offs, and mentor others on communication and documentation standards.
  • Experience developing, maintaining, or improving laboratory operating procedures, equipment workflows, or test methodologies
  • Advanced expertise with both automated and manual RF test systems, including calibration methods, system‑level debugging, and equipment configuration optimization
  • Proven ability to collaborate with Test Engineering, Product Development, Quality, and Manufacturing teams to resolve complex root‑cause issues
  • Capable of learning quickly and applying new knowledge to future responsibilities

USD 35.70 - 43.74 per hour
