Job Summary

This position is for an Applications Manager for Power Semiconductor Products including charge-pump, capacitor divider and point-of-load DCDC power conversion ICs and PSiP modules for a range of applications including: Datacenter, Networking and High-end Consumer applications.

 

The applicant should have extensive experience in power management systems in a semiconductor environment and be capable of managing and growing a global team of talented individuals. The position is expected to be practical and hands-on. The candidate is expected to have excellent problem-solving skills, lab management, circuit simulation expertise and capable of interfacing with key customers on a regular basis.

Reports to the Director of Marketing and Applications for Power Products.

 

Roles & Responsibilities

This position has responsibility for:

  • Managing, mentoring, and growing a team of talented applications engineers focused on the development of innovative power management products. 
  • Definition and delivery of applications collateral associated with new power semiconductor products including: datasheets, application notes, simulation models (PSPICE/Simplis) and evaluation boards.
  • Manage development of Graphic User Interface (GUI) software development, where applicable. 
  • Working closely with marketing and key customers to define product roadmaps and direction, contribute to new product ideas and drive detailed product definitions. 
  • Interfacing with IC Design Engineers, Product and Test Engineers to resolve product issues and customer challenges.
  • Manage verification testing to ensure that products function reliably within the customer application environment. 
  • Engage internal advanced technology teams to accelerate the adoption of disruptive technologies.

Minimum Qualifications (Experience and Skills)

  • Typically requires 8 to 12 years of experience in power management system applications and/or product definition, depending on level of education and experience.
  • At least 2 years managing an applications team.
  • Ability to manage and grow a global power semiconductor applications team.
  • Strong technical background in Power Management semiconductor and/or module products.
  • Thorough understanding of latest power management architectures and technologies relevant to the focus markets and applications. 
  • Simulation knowledge/experience in PSPICE and/or Simplis.
  • Knowledge of the Power Management competitive environment.  
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communications skills to interact with customers and internal teams.
  • Responsive, self-driven and directed, with a strong sense of ownership.
  • Ability to solve complex customer problems.
  • Willingness to travel both within the US and internationally, and work with team members and customers directly.

 

 Education Requirements:

  • BSEE, or local equivalent
  • MSEE preferred

 

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment. This role will travel up to 10-20% of the time.

Maximum Salary: $202,970
