Job Summary
This position will be located in Taiwan and the appropriate person will need excellent verbal and written communication in both English and Mandarin to achieve business objectives.
The Staff Engineer owns productization and sustaining of assigned product lines from development kick‑off through mass production and end of life. The position will be responsible for ensuring successful characterization of new products, defining production test plans and launching new products into high volume production. Responsibilities include yield enhancement, analysis of RMA customer returns, and Change control during production. The position must be a strong collaborator and be able to meet product requirements on schedule.
You will operate with minimal guidance and use data to drive decisions. Your work will require exceptional organization and attention to detail. Tin this role you will need to exercise sound judgment in methods used to solve problems and in the evaluation of the results. The Staff Engineer will drive and facilitate activities with other engineers working on the project. This position should be capable of working effectively and efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a sense of commitment and be flexible to project needs.
Roles & Responsibilities
This position has responsibility for:
- New Product introduction: Ensure new products meet product development requirements prior to production release. Define production test plans, define experiments to study product performance and capabilities, analyze test and characterization data to identify performance issues or show product meets marketing requirements. Establish standardized test and measurement methods for new product lines.
- Product Sustaining: Apply data analysis skills to improve product yields during production. Review and disposition production lots as necessary. Deliver test time reduction while maintaining coverage and DPM targets. Analyze customer returns. Able to operate with minimal guidance.
- Change Control: Own any changes in production processes and how the change may impact product performance or reliability. Perform any necessary electrical characterization to support change qualification.
- Failure Analysis: Drive failure analysis studies on customer returns or to study failure modes that impact yield.
- Team Leadership: Mentor junior product engineers on methods, analysis, correlation, and problem solving.
Minimum Qualifications (Experience and Skills)
- 8+ years of experience in Product Engineering or Design Engineering, depending on education level and experience
- Broad experience with wafer and package level product development and production manufacturing for products such as LNAs, Switch, Antenna Tuning Switch, Wifi/Bluetooth PA.
- Strong technical writing and communication skills
- Team player with a strong sense of urgency to meet product requirements on schedule
- Hands-on use of various DC/RF measurement equipment to validate performance
- Strong background with data analysis software such as Exensio or JMP
- Strong background working with large datasets and applying statistical methods to draw accurate conclusions
- Experience with Matlab or similar tools
- Some experience with Cadence or similar design tool and schematic review
- Ability to mentor junior engineers
- Fluent in both English and Mandarin
Education Requirements
- BSEE required; MSEE preferred
