Why Consider This Job Opportunity

Murata Electronics has international assignees (Inpats) from Japan working across U.S locations. The HR Specialist provides HR operational and timely support for the Inpat employees, enabling them to progress and successfully complete their individual assignments. This position coordinates with internal departments, external vendors, professional service providers, and other stakeholders. The HR Specialist is responsible for multiple areas and may change based on business and individual needs.

What To Expect (Essential Job Responsibilities)

  • Maintain accurate employee records in HRIS (personal data, job changes, promotions, terminations).
  • Produce regular and ad hoc HR reports and dashboards (headcount, turnover, vacancy, new hires) to support decision making.
  • Support HR system updates, data reconciliations, and testing during implementations.
  • Support HR processes: collect approvals, prepare input files, and track timelines.
  • Administer performance review processes: distribute forms, track completion, compile results and reminders.
  • Maintain compliance documentation and assist with audits, mandatory notices and policy distribution.
  • Identify and document opportunities to streamline HR operational processes.
  • Manage day to day HR administrative tasks: employment verifications, letters, filing, AAP/EEOC, etc.
  • HRIS data feed accuracy between SuccessFactors and Dayforce working with IT department.
  • HRIS issue resolution when needed.

Miscellaneous Job Responsibilities

Perform other Inpat-relate duties as assigned, adapting to changing business needs, policies, and individual circumstances.

What Is Required (Qualifications)

  • Bachelor's degree is required.
  • 2+ years experience in employee support, HR operations, general administration, executive support, customer service, or a comparable coordination role. 
  • Advanced verbal and written proficiency in Japanese for daily business communication with Inpats.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to build effective relationships with employees, internal stakeholders, and external vendors.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records, track multiple cases and deadlines, and handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Strong task-management skills and ability to prioritize recurring work, urgent requests, and changing needs.
  • Proactive, service-oriented, confidential, and flexible approach is essential.

How To Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)

  • Experience supporting expatriates or international assignees, global mobility, immigration visas and taxes, benefits, travel, or employee relocation.
  • Experience coordinating with external vendors or professional service providers; familiarity with AGAVE, Cigna, HR or expense systems, or Excel-based tracking tools is helpful.

Travel

Some domestic travel required to communicate with Inpats.
