The IT Infrastructure Manager ensures stability, security, and scalability of the IT infrastructure. This role oversees the implementation and maintenance of network, server, and cloud systems which also includes driving strategic initiatives, managing complex projects, and design contribution. What To Expect (Essential Job Responsibilities)
- Oversee the configuration, deployment, monitoring, maintenance, and optimization of IT infrastructure systems (network, servers, storage, cloud).
- Ensure compliance with security standards, disaster recovery plans, and backup procedures.
- Manage asset lifecycle for hardware and software within Infrastructure’s area of responsibility.
- Lead infrastructure-related projects from initiation to completion, ensuring adherence to scope, timeline, and budget.
- Develop project plans, allocate resources, and monitor progress using recognized project management methodologies and tools.
- Prepare business case justifications and cost/benefit analyses for IT initiatives.
- Contribute to IT strategy development, infrastructure roadmap planning, and design of systems.
- Implement and enforce IT infrastructure policies, standards, and best practices via incident and change management.
- Communicate with vendors, other IT teams, and business stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of solutions.
- Negotiate contracts and manage vendor performance.
- Supervise, mentor, train, and conduct performance reviews for infrastructure team members, fostering a culture aligned with Murata’s core principles.
Miscellaneous Job Responsibilities
- Maintain professional and technical expertise by attending workshops, reviewing industry publications, building professional networks, benchmarking best practices, and participating in relevant societies.
- Assist the Director of IT in preparing annual capital and burden budget for the IT department as well as developing the infrastructure department’s travel budget.
- Perform other job-related responsibilities and duties as assigned.
What Is Required (Qualifications)
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in IT infrastructure management, including network and server administration.
- Experience in a management role with at least one direct report.
- Proven experience in managing large-scale IT projects with familiarity with ITIL practices and change management processes.
- Strong knowledge of networking (LAN/WAN, wireless), virtualization, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), and security technologies.
- Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment with a focus on high-level customer service.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain technical information to non-technical parties.
- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment with strong business acumen.
